I was a "burn in" skeptic as well! It took me 20 yrs to believe in the concept that cables make a difference! I now "believe" in both! It's a strange thing for sure.
The rationale behind burn in for capacitors has some basis in theory. The idea is that during the process of "winding" the thin film, micro-perforations develop. There is an arching across these tiny holes until the gap is fused with melted material thus repairing the hole. Why cables sound better over time is one I still cant quite get! The concept with cables is supposed to be based on the analogy of a stream or river that flows through and around rocks and obstacles. Over time those "rocks" are worn down or moved out of the flow so as not to impede it! - That one is a little tough! -- earwaxer ------------------------------------------------------------------------ earwaxer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32040 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66347 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
