I'm pretty familiar with the sound of your system as in many ways it is
a smaller scale version of mine :-)

You need to keep in mind that most Linn gear of that period has a house
sound which is quite "dry" (some call it "grey") and linn Front ends
(all cd players, LP12 etc) were designed to offset that "greyness" to
produce a balanced end-result. This is why Linn front or back ends were
often not favoured by reviewers outside of full Linn systems.

This is why I have an MF X-10 tube buffer in my system - it adds some
slight "colour" to the sound of my DAC.

Before doing anything else, I'd let the TP settle down for a week (keep
some music playing through it if possible) and also make sure that the
quality of your rips is OK - what are you using for that?

Your system will show up any issues with the rips being
less-than-perfect.
I presume you were comparing the same album between Genki and TP?

Also a/b comparisons need to be level matched otw the louder source
will always sound better.

If the TP is your only source, you could take the Kollector out of the
system and wire the TP to the first LK140 (and then daisy-chain from
there to the second LK140). You will need to set the internal
attenuators in the TP first. That will improve the sound slightly.
However this is advanced stuff.

Before leaping to any conclusions, you need to do some proper listening
over a few hours, with a variety of material. Don't do quick a/b
comparisons.

Listen to some music you don't normally/often listen to.

Good Luck.

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...
SB3 (wired) - TACT 2.2X (Linear PSU) + Good Vibrations S/W - MF
Triplethreat(Audiocom full mods) - Linn 5103 - Aktiv 5.1 system (6x
LK140's, ESPEK/TRIKAN/KATAN/SEIZMIK 10.5), Townsend Supertweeters, Blue
