Ok! - all that was said above is valid - get a working copy and then we can talk!
- beyond that - you have to burn the unit in! - The Transporter is on the clinical side of things sound wise! - it mellows with time. I can dig how you can get turned off on the first few listens - I returned a Musical Fidelity V-DAC after a few days - I just couldnt stand the sound! - even after burning in for a a couple of days. I may have overreacted. I dont regret it though - now I have the Transporter! The transporter sounded MUCH better to me than the MF out of the box! After some months its much better and has blended well with my modified maggies, winsome labs t-amp and a fair amount of silver cabling. I'm not saying EVERY system is going to play well with the Transporter. I personally think some tubes mixed in there is the trick! - see Modright transporter - As I said in other posts - euphonic capacitors can really help! In summary - I feel the Transporter has great potential but it needs patience for burn in and proper matching to downstream equipment. Is the Modright the way to go? - could be - if you have a highly detailed and clinical system. Otherwise you can mold the system around the Transporter strengths.
