Do your speakers support active or passive biamping? If not, you would need to modify the speaker. Passive biamping could provide some improvment but active would probably be better. Then you need a EQ/crossover like a Behringer or dBx. Sometimes these will add their own sound signature. It may not be trivial or cheap to optimize things. The more db you put into the room, the greater the tendency for the room to sing along. If you partially treat a room with aborbers/diffusors or EQ, the untreated problem areas may snap into sharper focus. This can lead to system upgrade bingeing. You don't mention your cabling. Cabling can effect perceived harshness and/or limit resolution. I thought the Duet sounded harsh in my gym system. I tamed it by inserting a poor quality lossy outlet extender before the wall wart. This cable would make things worse in my main system. Go figure. -- DotSystem ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DotSystem's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15213 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66754 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
