Are you asking or thinking this is something new? Did you know that out
of ALL the brands of VCRs during their hay-day, there were only about 8
actual manufactures?

Look at the McIntosh MS-750 Music Server, all it is is a Escient
FireBall MX752 with a Blue faceplate with McIntosh on it for $2500 more
and the small bonus of the three year Mac warranty. Considering that the
$2500 extra one pays for the Mac versus the Fireball is over half the
price of a new MX752, I don't think that is a good deal for an extended
warranty or a good enough reason to have a NMP that matches ones other
Mac gear.
