Thanks! One thing to bear in mind while we wait for the weekend... Thanks to John Swenson, we know now that the analogue o/p stage of the Touch is very different electronically to the SB3. Likewise the s/pdif output. So, now I know this, I would expect to get some large differences and looking back over my tests it does indeed seem that the Touch is not just different but better with regard to LF noise on its analogue o/p's. I don't think I will ever be able to comment on JA's measurements (and it would be unfair of me to do so) as I can't replicate them. As an aside, Ages ago I stuck a scope across the analogue o/p's of the SBĀ£ and looked at a 1Khz sine wave - there was a fair amount of VHF noise on that wave. My own DAC produces no such noise. I will test the Touch for this as soon as I can. Sean defended the SB3 by saying that the noise was well out of the audible band (which it certainly was).
