Jorg, one item that I don't think has been pointed out is that a DAC is an item that can be added to your system at any point down the road if you change your mind about audibility.
Unlike making a present day decision to rip your CDs to MP3 quality instead of WAV or FLAC, deciding to stick with the analog output of the SB3 at present doesn't screw up your future ability to enjoy an external DAC in the future.
