FWIW, I paired my Duet with a Beresford TC7520 on my Woo Audio WA6E headphone amp running Sennheiser HD650's and I was stunned by the overall improvement in clarity and soundstage. It was way better than the Cuet running direct into the Woo amp. I then introduced the Beresford DAC between my Duet and Bottlehead tube system. Again, the improvement in sound was outstanding. I really cannot say anything negative about the improvement in sound quality of digital recordings, even with a low-priced DAC.
I also found the sound from an LP to the Woo amp to be more enjoyable running though the DAC.
