I thought it was a reasonably prudent manufacturing practice to retain a certain percentage of the parts stock for repairs. There are a lot of reasons that things break and need service. Given that Transporters are still being sold new it strikes me odd no parts would be available even if they are just running out existing product and going to discontinue the line when done.
