Not laughing - but it's a very unfair comparison. PC's are made from modular, pluggable, generic components (excluding laptops - which certainly are in a similar boat to the TP). The TP is mostly made from bespoke devices, apart from the wi-fi card and some of the components on the mainboard. Pat is right, the world has changed (not for the better IMO) in the last 40 years in this respect. It's the price we pay for cheap(er) to buy - expensive or impossible to fix. If you want Linn/Naim/Quad/etc "long term" support you really DO have to pay for it. I made my decision 20+ years ago and so far it has worked out. However, I know if my pre-amp died I would probably have trouble getting it fixed... and a replacement would be £7k :-( -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
