Consumer electronics works this way it is what is is. Todays ce is not made to be repaired you recycle and replace.
I wish that things where like in the insdustrial world the company I work for keep spares 10 years after the product have been superceded by a new one and sales have ceased, but then maintainance and spares are part of the business. And industrial electronics are made for a >= 20 year lifecycle or so. (sometime things are to well made some clients clinch to their stuff made in the 1970's ). High end could work this way the pricing is similar to industrial electronics. Did not Quad keep spares "forever" when they where a real company not owned by the Chinese or some multinational. Do McIntosh still service all their amps ? I think Bryston is showing they way here with their 20year warranty. -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J and assorted amps SiriuS, Classe'Primare and Dynadio speakers (including a pair of Contour 4 ) Bedroom/Office: Boom Kitchen: SB3 + powered Fostex PM0.4 Miscellaneous use: Radio (with battery) I use a Controller various ir-remotes and a Eee-PC with squeezeplay to control this ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77638 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
