Any DAC with an asynchronous USB interface will proudly announce that fact, since the DLIII does not mention anything about its USB input other than that it has one, my guess is that its a run of the mill adaptive mode interface.
I would just stick with the Squeezebox, its guaranteed to be bit perfect no matter what machine you run the server on.
