In that case TP price should have drop 50% once Logitech took it over from Slimdevices as factor 10x margin is not common in computer peripheral branch even welcome. Having said that, main reason Logitech let this product dying is linked to the huge complexity of his out of the box setup. It's not an autonomous device that just need to be plugged to play music. This device perform only well when user master both IT and SS/SC/SBS settings. As only few retailers WW where able to propose turn key solutions with TP & NAS ready to use and also provide some customer guidance about IT so this product remains a geek stuff. Unfortunately geeks are not prone to spend $2k for an audio solution they believe to equal/beat using a computer + DAC, and this close the loop. TP is a to complex product for normal people who have the money and to expensive for people who have the knowledge. It's a real pity since sound quality and/or user interface are still clearly top level, but competition didn't sleep and guys like Naim, Linn, Olive, PSAudio T+A etc are pushing hard on NMP. It's clear that it would be time now for a TP2 and Logitech could have done it well. There is room for a hi-end 24/192 Transport with state of the art digital in & out, refined power supply, touch color display and digital volume knob. Removing the DAC would reduce cost and increase audiophile acceptance since they can then choose which sound taste they like the most. All this sold for $1k would make Logitech multi-room NMP offering range more solid and successful. but as fare as we can see this will never happen, very sad. -- your momo ------------------------------------------------------------------------ your momo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8095 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80282
