First, I was talking about computer-based system. 
Music Servers are closest to CDP, and likely easiest to use, but in
another price category, even Olive is not that inexpensive..

I know some addicted to physical media, they're buying plastic boxes
rather than download some FLACs from HDTracks or similar..

And in the end this is sound quality that matters, most of these guys
are not yet convinced that computer-based playback is already there..
Computer in many minds is associated with sound blaster, it is hard to
break these stereotypes

Going back to Transporter, which is similar to LINN in operation (it is
much worse, actually), I do not think that complexity is the showstopper
for audiophiles. As I said, no need for network setup, you can merely
use one crossover CAT5 cable to connect laptop or small, fanless Atom
case like HFX, to Transporter.
