Guys First, I was talking about computer-based system. Music Servers are closest to CDP, and likely easiest to use, but in another price category, even Olive is not that inexpensive..
I know some addicted to physical media, they're buying plastic boxes rather than download some FLACs from HDTracks or similar.. And in the end this is sound quality that matters, most of these guys are not yet convinced that computer-based playback is already there.. Computer in many minds is associated with sound blaster, it is hard to break these stereotypes Going back to Transporter, which is similar to LINN in operation (it is much worse, actually), I do not think that complexity is the showstopper for audiophiles. As I said, no need for network setup, you can merely use one crossover CAT5 cable to connect laptop or small, fanless Atom case like HFX, to Transporter. -- michael123 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ michael123's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23745 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80282 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
