I think you have to look at how the bits are delivered. My personal
experience with the Transporter is that it gets the bits from the
server (laptop) as well as can be done with today's technology. Thats
my opinion from what I can glean from the discussions to date.

Much debate on the USB, SPDIF, I2S methods. I2S should be the best only
over short distances. I don't know - I have my Transporter wired over
ethernet to my PC and I'm not "upgrading" anytime soon. Fricking
awesome, IMHO. DAC's are another issue. Constantly changing. I would
probably go SPDIF out of my Transporter in the future if I felt that
the new DACs are better. They will be, thats the progress of digital!
