I had PerfectWave DAC for about a week in my step (yet, my Transporter is modded..), I connected PWD through Transporter AES/EBU output then
44.1/16 produced significantly wider soundstage, more analog-like and much less grainy than of Transporter. Fabulous. With all my twists with SOX upsampling, I cannot get it still :( However, in high-res 24bit recordings, it sounded a smooth to me, and I did not like it that way.. Filters and combination of up-sampling options make about 30 combinations to check, whatever I tested I did not find matching my taste for high-res. USB connection I did not test, but it may sound differently (from my experience), yet I was told that implementation there is one of the best.. PS Audio released these days a bridge with iPad controlling software. I would probably go with PWD..
