Ah finally, someone else out there who is as tormented as I. I too feel like there is no equivalent to Squeezebox Server and iPeng combination. Almost anything you want to do is possible because someone has already thought of it and written a plug-in for it. But now I have the PerfectWave DAC and Bridge. And because it uses DLNA, you can't use Squeezebox Server and iPeng. So sad.
The sound coming out of the the PWD/Bridge is unbeatable. So I've tried JRiver, Townky, and Asset and hate all of them compared to SS/iPeng. I even begged one of the Slim Devices programmers to write a DLNA plug in. I begged the iPeng guys to make their software DLNA compatible. In the end, it's Sophie's choice. Sound or function? For now I'm going for the best sound in hopes that the boys at PS Audio will fix the function problem when they release their own server. But I also fear that they have not really taken a look at how well SS/iPeng is doing it.
