OK I actually decided to bite the bullet and listen to the Touch's analog output. Have to say the sound quality is extremely impressive! Very, very close to my DAC. So close that at this point I would not be able to reliably tell them apart (still not that familiar with regular system sound due to so many changes over the last month). Will have to spend more time with it to see if it has any significant weaknesses, but it is very enjoyable and very musical. A huge (in audiophile terms) step up from the Duet Receiver's analog out, so honestly quite a surprise. May think about getting another Touch for living room system and retiring older DAC there (Duet Receiver analog did not cut it even in that system).
