Thanks for replies. I understand that Boom would not be "audiophile" quality sound. Not looking for that while I cycle. Just looking for something a bit better than the iPod. Also want something fairly portable and compact, so do not want to deal with the mess of a Touch plus a headphone amp, etc.
Continuing the off topic: 4000mi of riding outside is definitely quite a bit of cycling. I did only a bit over 1600mi this year due to limited time. Used to do more like 2500-3000mi. Surprised to hear about using a rowing machine during winter. I have an old bike on a trainer.
