1. I'm not sure about how to compress my flac files but can probably
work it out without too much trouble.

2. Mains dc crackle possibly? although I have an RF suppressor on my
pc end and two stages of filtration on my stereo side. (Fikus
lampizator RFI homebrew and a Richard Gray RGPC400 Pro(in series))
although only the Fikus on the ESL's. I'm going to have to experiment
here, I guess I could pull the plugs on the ESL's and let them
discharge and see if they still crackle.

3. I really fail to see how it could be the panels when they never
ever pop when the PC is off and I'm listening direct to the TP radio
streams, however I will be open minded about this and will troubleshoot
if other avenues lead nowhere.

4. I would lean towards dc crackle at the moment, however, if I pull
the plug on the pc and let the rest of the song play just from the
Transporters buffer it still crackles/pops, is it possible for this
noise to reside in the information within the buffer?
I'm going to float ie unplug the Esl's and see if this has any effect
too, then I'll start on the rest of the suggestions.

Thanks guys I'll work through these suggestions and keep you posted.

p.s. Phil I'm from GB too but have lived abroad for fifteen yrs now.
don't miss the weather or the politics.
