" Phil, it seems you were correct about the quads getting tired the flac and higher res files "extra wideband energy" as you put it does affect them at the frequency ranges more than the lossy ones. I following some advice, and managed to induce the problem with some heavy bass, volume up until they started making the popping and then increasing just a bit more and the offending panels start to lose their charge, then back off a bit and they still leak which is how you locate the bad panels, until you rest them for a while. time for a service!
