For Squeezeplay fixing volume and 100% volume is the same thing have a
look at the code.
it essentially just set the same value in the same place .

But squeezeplay has some remaining issues , there is a bug when the
web-UI still can change the volume even if it's fixed .

And replay gain still affects the volume via some compiled c code in
the code and so does crossfade , I've forget where in the code you can
find it.

So for Squeezeplay using the method described by Peterw is the best so
far as it at least stops the web-UI from having an influence .

And then the user has to turn off Volume adjustment and crossfade.

You can leave crossfade on if don't use HDCD DTS or DD rips if you like
the effect, but if we are hifi nuts we turn that off to as the track was
not meant to sound that way ;) If the artis wanted a fade they had done
so themselfs.
