You may be interested to note that the v-link is reviewed in
stereophile this month. The review is generally positive, but if you
read the measurement section it is quite clear that the v-link's S/PDIF
output is anything but jitter free and the question whether it will
offer any improvement in jitter performance "will depend on the jitter
rejection of the DAC to which it is connected". On the whole it is
recommended as a way of connecting a laptop to a legacy DAC, but it is
not the same as giving you the performance you would get from a DAc
with an asynch usb input. [actually the listening test with the dcs dac
might seem to suggest that, but but this seems to be because that DAC
has such good jitter rejection]
Not sure whether there are any figures which can be compared with the
Touch.
