You have to pick your poison! Cross it over before or after. It needs to be done (unless you have a 20hz to 20khz driver - Not at all ideal!). I like the passive route. So do many other VERY high end speaker makers. I like swapping caps because I frankly dont trust the speaker makers out there as far as I can throw them! They cut corners big time. They have to. Its a matter of survival. I appreciate that they are willing to fight and stay in business. Thats fine. I'll buy it and hack out the cheap parts.
