You're quite right so far we still don't know which Squeezebox was being used. However we do know that the OP has a "highly modified Theta CasaNova featuring 6 digital RCA inputs, 1 AES/EBU input, and the 2 toslink inputs that are limited to 96khz" which would lead us to assume that the OP would most likely not be interested in the Transporter since a high quality external DAC is already in his system.
