Hi Frank, I have exactly the same issues!! -Live in Switzerland (Winterthur) -Know about the Distributor issue of Rega and have no solution to it either -Understand exactly what you mean with your description of the SB sound! -Want to correct that as well; however don't know 1) if a DAC really corrects that and 2) what DAC to buy.
I also thought of the Rega DAC (don't want to spend more than 1000 CHF) Other options I considered: -MusicHall 25.3 (with tube) -Astintrew DAC (coming in October - but will be around 1600£!) -Minimax DAC (with tube) I think I can try a Music-Hall 25.3 in the next couple of weeks - then I know a little bit more...
