Is there a way you can just audition one? Don't know where you are but I believe Audio Advisor (US-based) sells them and has a decent return policy.
I happen to think the Rega's sound is wonderfully listenable and an improvement over the Touch (I'm using coax interconnect), but all of the descriptives don't really mean much 'cause my ears/brain are different than yours.
