Well, thank you. It seems I've got it right since, using the above command, the values for those process numbers did come back as they should have (with correct new values of all of those pid's). My jive_alsa is, for the moment 744. In the meantime, I uploaded the 7.6.1 firmware into the Touch and had to reinstall Klaus' toolbox 2.0 and then re-do these mods all over again. But, all is quite well and the music's back!
