I have an rDAC. It sits between my Touch and Sugden A21a Amplifier and Dynaudio Audience 52's.
The Touch is a superb little grab the signal interface but its onboard DAC sounds insubstantial and with only ok soundstaging. I also have a Sugden CD21 as a source and the sound is smooth, you can pinpoint performers/instruments with ease and there is heaps of detail. The Touch is nowhere near this quality (I wouldn't expect it to be) but put an rDAC in the mix and it matches the CD21 ie very very good.
