I'm a Brit although I've lived in the US for 20yrs now so I remember the Castle's, really great speakers! Yes take them apart first and have a good look around in there, it sounds like something loose, or just the screws on the front, just tighten them gently or they will strip. Plus you'll learn something at the same time.
As for changing the capacitors, the wiring too> Those Castle's are great but they can sound much much better.
