After a few compared listening, I understand where the impressions of
metallic sound and lack of depth come from.
First, the sonic image is MUCH MORE FOCUSED. This reveals a lot of
details and a very precise placement of the instruments but a contrario
stresses the highs that can not be hidden anymore in any fuzziness of
the sound. That means it is a lot less permissive than before for
metallic tones that are in the original recording. Second, as some did
comment before, there is no lift anymore of any instrument. Therefore,
they look a little more back layed with less scenic depth but very
probably with more realistic scenic representation of the recording
room acoustics. In fact, I discovered that some instruments were
previously hidden by others that were too much highlighted.
Furthemore, everything seems louder and I had to turn yhe volume down
to avoid fatiguing.
In conclusion, a very realistic representation but may be a little to
much analytical sound for my ears and/or my system. Not sure it gives
the most sensitive and refined interpretation for my personnal taste. I
will keep listening though before to conclude.
