I've been doing a lot of listening with the 01-01-2012 SBGK version
(with buffer size=20000), but more is needed before I can compare it
with older versions, including the so-called Guido F with buffer=4000
that rgro finds superior.

SBGK's latest version sounds very very good to me at this point. There
is something undefinable that feels so right about the presentation.
But I do get just a tad of the "metallic" sound some have mentioned
with some recordings, though not with others. My notes say "sparkling."
This seems more like the kind of brighter sound some concert halls have
(the opposite of the "Concertgebow sound"). It may be the most neutral
sound I have gotten out of my system yet.

I also had to make minor subwoofer adjustments with every new version
of the mods, and this has tended to confound things.

More listening should help reach firmer conclusions. I shall report
back.

Guido F.
