Fair enough. I still hold that certain minimal requirements ought to be adhered to if we are to compare our notes in a meaningful fashion. To me, these would be the minimal requirements: 1. Apply Soundcheck's TT3.0 software mods in full (including doing all FLAC conversions on the server, disabling w-lan, screen, infrared, and doing the tt -k) 2. Replace SBT's switching PSU (a.k.a. the nasty wallwart) with a decent linear PSU 3. Use digital coax outs only (assuming that you're feeding the digital signal into a decent DAC) Once the above is accomplished (i.e. the gospel), we can apply various SBGK (or whatever his moniker happens to be) mods, including varying the buffer size, and then compare notes. However, in case we submit our listening impressions while deviating from the above gospel, we are in effect comparing apples to oranges -- not a very useful contribution.
