Nobody is 'properly evaluating' anything anyone is doing. All we are doing is an attempt to maximize our own listening pleasure and graciously (I hope) share our own experiences. No one is holding any Gospel! Given that we all have different equipment-room-ears-brain-musical tastes, it's not entirely surprising that we achieve the best results with different settings.
