You raise a very good question, and a difficult one to answer (a good answer to this question could end all this discussion!). Some things are hard to validate. But many things discussed on this forum are EASY to test with a simple blind comparison. e.g., Tell me how many times you could identify which CABLE was being in the system out of N trials. 90% of the time? 50/50 (guessing). Or simply report that I like Cable X better in my system.
