I would like to experiment on the Ethernet connection to isolate any potential noises/RFI/etc. Can someone recommend a few approaches?
I have done a lot to improve my main audio system, which is in the family room with the HDTV and home theater system. I have a few bass/sound traps from RealTraps and a dedicated 20A circuit for the audio gears. From there on, I have two power line conditioners/filters, one for the digital gears (Transporter and SACD player) and one for the analog gears (preamp and amp). I am a believer that digital noises can degrade sound quality. The digital noises are more than just from DSP/CPU/RAM etc. The power supplies in my analog gears have low noise diodes and Bybee filters for further treating noises. I think I have a pretty nice setup. Now back to the Ethernet connection to the Transporter. The Transporter is connected to a router 3 ft away. I am using this router as a bridge as it has a MoCA connection to the main router in the other room where the LMS resides. The power adaptor of the router/bridge is on the circuit that feeds the TV. So I have done as much isolation as possible. After reading a few threads in this forum, I am starting to think the Ethernet connection from the router/bridge to the Transporter can be a potential source of RFI and digital noises. I would like to hear what others have done on the Ethernet connection.
