I in no way have even the slightest doubt about your sincerity and your beliefs rather it's just that I no longer buy into the merry-go-round of the latest and greatest thing to ever happen to the world of audio that so many audiophiles get caught up in. This is not to say that advances and improvements don't happen because they do. Rather it's more the scale both with respect to time and degree of improvement that I'm at odds with. In the case of the Transporter you are more than likely correct that a new, state of the art (whatever that is) DAC can and will produce a clear improvement on some music, some of the time over the Transporter's analog outputs. The real question is whether or not these improvements are worth the price. In your case they are and that's good because you are now happy. My goal with audio has never been to simply throw money at it but rather to find ways to improve my system in the most cost effective way possible which is why I have so Squeezebox devices - they offer some of the best bang of the buck in audio today.
