That sounds ok to me. But I think the jitter is not only signal correlated, but also related to the source, cabling and DAC/processor etc. Stopped by at Barnes and Noble today and browsing through a Stereophile, they show graphs of jitter spectrum for various inputs (SPDIF, AES, USB etc). I think this is a good guidance for making any buying decisions. If the spectrum looks bad and you think it still sounds good, you need to listen again. Stereophile has improved or what in the last few years ? (after I got sick of the high priced gear they reviewed and stopped my subscription). In the Feb issue, they provide details of the chips, algorithms etc of the equipment they are reviewing @Mnyb - yeah i quickly looked at the specs of your equipment before I replied. Even your speakers have memory buffer based jitter reduction (so yes the cables dont matter). This is quite awesome. I am not surprised whatever source you connect to your systems I am pretty sure they sound almost alike. (BTW, there used to be a jitter reduction box sold which had a memory buffer based jitter reduction, so a partial circuit from your boxes could be sold as an independent product !!! ) So I can only suspect, you are just being selfish and want to deny the poorer audiophiles the luxury you are enjoying with your music reproduction by claiming jitter does not matter at all . Serious disinformation campaign ? :-) @gary -No problem. I am not contributing much. Especially, when most of you have already spent kilobucks on your audio equipment :-) . My approach is to help people in the low-end/beginning audiophile journey to be aware of the issues in audio reproduction and make value conscious decisions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SoftwireEngineer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7000 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96407 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
