No in some cases it is not the same master at al ,it can be the old cd "remaster" . The audiophile labels may or may not act differently but how do you know , Actually I have some chesky that's sounds very similar so they probaly have transcoded the same master to fit the CD in that case What I,loved about DVDA was discrete multichannel ,that is awesome ,the amount of information you get bombarded with is staggering . I even run stereo recordings in " Trifield" to utilise my center channel . But it is not practical for a lot people to have 5.1 playback at the same quality level as their 2ch stereo , but IMHO,they could if they where not chasing extremely expensive rainbows ! Like some cool aid drinkers using 30k$ DAC's and then some SET tube amps ?
