There is a simpler way. Using AudioDiffMaker often gives the answer
almost instantaneous. Sometimes one has to ponder a bit on the masking
effect, but that's often not necessary, the difference is just way too
small.

Other than that, I agree that double-blind is the way to go. Why be
happy with opinions when it comes to matters that are actually possible
to (dis)prove?
