Such an AVR with integrated room eq seems quite cost effective. Would it be possible to expand a bit upon the upsides of the AVR, Audyssey and the speakers? Perhaps compared to some other convolvers and/or other active speakers with DSP? (I use REW for measuring and BruteFirDRC for convolving. But it's a bit of a hassle to set it up. Keeping it alive also takes a bit of tinkering. The amp and speakers are plain stupid ones (analog/passive), so they have nothing to offer but quality.) It would be nice to have a completely self-contained solution but your two-box solution is perhaps as simple as it gets at this point in history?
