Yes problem would be solved if those DACs make every input shine, then
job is done. But if instead they reduce every input to a mediocre level,
for example, then it's not problem solved, is it? I'm not saying the
PSaudio DAC does this - I don't know but it is wise to test the Regen on
a DAC which doesn't do this & then test it on the PSaudio DAC with
digital lens technology.

This is what ASRCs (asynchronous Sample Rate Converter) do - they
improve jittery inputs up to a certain level but with very low jitter
inputs they tend to diminish the sound. This can be shown by using a DAC
with a defeatable ASRC
