Not hardly. For openers there are three different general kinds of USB port named USB, USB-2, and USB-3. They vary most strongly in terms of maximum speed. Beyond that, there are many different implementations of each kind of port. A PC may have one or more of each kind. While there are international standards for each of the 3 kinds of ports, every vendor who has an implementation of a kind of port has his own take on the implmentation of the relevant standard. > > Now we have to assume that all internal hubs found in computers, > keyboards, monitors can have an effect on the USB when connected to > audio USB devices. > Can have and actually do have an audibly different effect are as always, two different things. > > So you need to ensure that your friends plug the REGEN into a > motherboard USB port. A mother board may have one or more of each of the three general kinds of ports, and among ports of a kind, there may be different hardware that implements the ports. > > So, it is not valid to have your friends pre-test on their own PCs > because this can cause bias. > Bias is always going to be present in any evaluation. The relevant question is whether the bias is allowed to affect the outcome of the evaluation. Why not do bias controlled tests? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ arnyk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64365 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103842 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
