Ok,


The transporter in question is owned by a not very tech savvy mate of
mine (so the description of the issue I posted was based on his
diagnosis)

Now that I have it at my house, testing against my slimserver setup
shows that it in fact boots fine from cold but the screen is blank.

If you then turn it off via the remote and quickly unplug/plug it in, it
boots fine with the screen working as designed.

If you shutdown the slimserver PC for any length of time then restart
the slimserver PC, the transporter awakens fine with the screen working
as designed.

So it would appear to be the "standard" issue with the screen power
supply.... so I have order several of these (two cover off the two
transporters I own plus my mates one).
