Actually you have it backwards.

I ordered the Digi and got the Dac....which I have no need for

Therefore, your statement is correct, I would rather and will hook up my
RPi to a "DECENT" Dac instead of some cheap rubbish Dac+:p

Even this being the case using a Cheap Digi is only for my desktop
office system. My main system uses i2s via a decent interface....my
exceptional hearing would have it no other way...;););)
