Ha!  I just think it's awesome to learn new and useful things.  I had 
never heard of bind mounts before but I can think of a ton of uses for 
them, particularly wrt chrooted build environments.

In my chroots, I always mount my home dir (which is on a separate 
partition) so that I can build things as a normal user.  Bind mounts 
would make it work even if my home dir wasn't on a separate partition. 
Nice.
