Simply you should move it under aufs before chroot by "mount -o move ..."

Do you mean aufs ignored "del:/cow" without any message?
If so, tell me the detail. If the specified branch cannot be deleted,
aufs should return error.

Then you should move it to another place or use noxino (as in my
