Do you mean
- by d.patch, drivers/block/loop.c surely contains pr_info()
- but it doesn't print anything
- pr_info() in other files prints something expectedly
?

If so, there is a high possibility that you are using unpatched kernel
(but patched aufs module), I am afraid.
But I'd suggest you to check these issues.
- where is your log file?
  the place might be different before/after mounting aufs. can it happen?
- what is the log level?
  if the log level is set too low, pr_info() doesn't print.
  was it changed between before/after mounting aufs?
