that is the problem with having non-tested installations. also a lot of Flarms are getting old and have been subjected to high temp operations over their lifetime.
quite possible that power output could be lower than spec. it does not take much aberration to significantly reduce range. if its older than 7 years, i strongly suggest you send it in for a test during winter. a post paid return bag and $20 is all it will cost. printed test results will be provided. make sure you can be seen!
