I agree with Mike, but in my experience it is better to have some expert draft a knowledgable letter, e-mail it around and have us each tailor the letter to reflect specific views.
I as yet have not reviewed the issue [whatever it is] in detail, but if it relates to how we cannot get a Charter Rating or take passengers for hire and reward I think we should all have a say about how we did it for 50 years, then some legal nit was invoked that bureaucratically stopped what we all know is safely possible and practical. Can someone draft a suitable letter for us all to send to our local elected rep.. Alan Wilson 02 62316 404 Would rather be above 8,000 than on the ground talking about flying. Re: Boring - 184 kms last Sunday, Yahooo, the season has started! So is the GFA going to bat for the AUF on this? Might be a good idea to do so as gliding might be next. To be effective it would require grass roots members to write to their pollies not a submission from the exec claiming to be acting on behalf of members. Maybe we should push to just adopt the US FAR's on flight training which don't require an AOC even for GA PPL training. Attack is better than defence and if we start having wins the CASA people may retreat into their bunkers. If you want to join an effective political lobby with a research officer who keeps tabs on this sort of nonsense from CASA see www.airsafety.com.au It's even free membership!
